At High Plains Outfitters, the Marine Corps ethos runs deep — not just in our methods, but in our mindset. Founded by Marines, our company thrives on the principles that shaped us: discipline, adaptability, and a commitment to those we stand beside. But it’s more than just a carryover from our time in uniform — it’s a way of life that guides how we build our events, connect with clients, and foster a community where shared experiences turn strangers into family.
Every Marine has a story — moments forged in fire, laughter shared in the chaos, and bonds that endure long after the uniform comes off. At High Plains Outfitters, we use those stories as cornerstones in everything we build. Whether we’re hosting a tactical shoot, planning a backcountry hunt, or teaching land navigation, we lean on our own real-world experiences to craft events that challenge, teach, and inspire.
Take one of our tactical shoot weekends, for example. It's not just about hitting steel at distance or mastering movement under fire — it's about the mindset. We pull from the lessons we learned downrange: working through stress, controlling breathing, and trusting the shooter next to you. We encourage veterans and first responders to tap into that same mental resilience they relied on in their own careers.
But the real magic happens after the shooting stops. Around the fire pit, over a cold drink, the stories start to flow — stories of deployments, of close calls, of brothers and sisters lost but never forgotten. Those moments forge bonds that run deep. For some, it’s the first time they've been able to talk openly about the things that weigh heavy on their hearts. For others, it’s a reminder that they’re not alone.
We've seen guys who walked in quiet and guarded leave with a renewed sense of purpose — a reminder that the values they lived by in uniform still apply today. The Marine Corps taught us that true strength is forged in shared hardship, and that trust is built when you know the person beside you will be there when it counts.
That’s the heartbeat of High Plains Outfitters. We’re not just about firearms, fishing, or hunting — we’re about building something bigger. We're about helping veterans and first responders heal the wounds that can't be seen, one story, one bond, and one shared experience at a time.
Support The Retired Investigators Guild in solving cold case homicides. Come on out and join us at an awesome move and shoot. Complimentary crayons for any Marines in attendance.
